Guided by the seasoned hands of a world-class executive chef with over 40 years of experience, Natural Harbor is more than a farm. It’s a fresh start. Here, homeless and disabled veterans find a home, community, and a new way forward—learning valuable life and culinary skills in a peaceful, healing environment.

Organizational Overview

 

Natural Harbor is a Christian-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing long-term housing, job training, and community support to homeless and disabled veterans. Our mission is to restore dignity, purpose, and hope to those who served, by offering them the opportunity to heal and thrive in a peaceful, rural farm environment.

Founded by Joseph and Angie, a husband-wife team with deep culinary and agricultural experience, Natural Harbor offers more than a place to stay—it offers a place to start over. Veterans live on the property, learn life and trade skills, and participate in a vibrant, faith-filled community that nurtures both their spiritual and practical needs.

What We Do

Natural Harbor is a fully functioning organic farm with:

  • Culinary arts training led by Joseph, an executive chef with over 40 years of experience.

  • Sustainable farming of non-GMO produce and free-range animals like Scottish Highland cattle, sheep, Mangalitsa pigs, and chickens.

  • Year-round growing with a greenhouse that will operate 365 days a year.

  • Farm-to-table food sold locally and shipped nationwide in curated boxes of fresh produce, meats, and prepared meals.

We raise and process everything right here on the farm—without chemicals, additives, or shortcuts. Even our cured meats are prepared naturally with celery powder instead of artificial nitrates or sulfates.

Skill Building & Trades

Veterans living at Natural Harbor are not just residents—they are the heartbeat of the farm. We offer:

  • Hands-on farming and animal care training

  • Construction & carpentry apprenticeships with community partners

  • Automotive repair training, certified by professional mechanics

  • Catering and event services for weddings, festivals, and community gatherings
